Scene One The CM Punk Chronicles Part One: Untitled *The scene opens with a shot of CM Punk walking in what appears to be an alleyway. He is walking slowly, calmly, relaxed. His hands in the pockets of his old, ripped jeans, his head covered by a worn sock hat with a silver and red design. The gravel and debris can be heard crunching under his feet with every step he took. A swift breeze blew down the alley, which was lined with large, brown dumpsters, cardboard boxes, old newspapers and other forms of complete filth. As Punk continued to walk, he began to speak, not looking at the camera, but rather off into teh distance, reminiscing.* | xXx CM Punk xXx | “I grew up dealing with a lot of things. My father was a drunk. But when I was a little kid, I didn’t think anything of it. As far as I knew, the smell of booze and cigarette smoke that always filled the room when he came home was the smell of a hard, honest days work that all the other families talked about. At the time, I didn’t know that he had never done a days work that was honest, or had he ever worked all that hard in his life. His day would consist of dropping by the unemployment office, checking to see if he could get a dead end job that he would undoubtably lose a week later. Unbeknownst to me, he would sit hours on end at the bars, drinking away the troubles and tribulations that his pathetic life brought upon him. Like a son, who wanted nothing more than to spend time with his father, no matter how much he would get beat at night for something as simple as asking for a glass of water before bed. Like a wife, who was so filled with terror and fear of her husband, that she avoided him at all costs, afraid of what he would do to her. He would spend the money that we didn’t have on his liquid escape, for a few precious hours of not being liable for his actions. Just so he could claim that it was the booze that made him do it. But during rare occasions, when my father would pass out because of his drunken stupor, when my mother was still spending her night locked away in their bedroom, hoping to god my father would stay the night on the couch, I would sit in the middle of the living room floor, eyes glued to the television set, getting my fix of professional wrestling. My first memory of professional wrestling was when Roddy Piper smashed a coconut over the head of Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka. From that moment on, I was hooked. From that night on, I was convinced that all I wanted to do with my life was become a professional wrestler. I wanted to cut the promos, do the interviews, get a ‘Warrior’ pop from the crowd. I wanted it all, every single bit of it. The glory, the respect, the adjulation that came along with being a professional wrestler. It seemed like a distant dream, an unattainable goal that I would always be able to strive for, but never quite achieve. Fast forward twenty three years, and here I am.” *Punk walks out onto a sidewalk and takes a left. As he walks he continues to speak.* | xXx CM Punk xXx | “The dreams and aspirations that I had as a six-year-old growing up in Chicago, Illinois have grown and prospered into the everyday life that I lead today. Little did I know at the time that I wouldn’t have to stand six foot six inches tall with bulging muscle and a bottle of baby oil in my bag. The times have changed, and now I have been blessed with the ability to compete on teh grandest stage in the world. Not because of my physique or because of how much I could bench press, but because of what I could do inside of the ropes. What I do today is a pay-off of all of the hard work and dedication that I put in, all of the decisions that I made, since I was that little kid sitting on teh grungy carpet of some two bedroom apartment in downtown Chicago. My hours of training in dojos and my exclusion of drugs and alcohol have enable me to travel the world round. To Asia, Europe, Australia, I have wrestling nearly everywhere, holding championships in every federation that I have been a part of. Ring Of Honor, Full Impact Pro, IWA: Mid-South, WWE. I have found success in them all.” *Punk stops at the corner of the street and looks right and left for oncoming traffic. Seeing that the road is clear, Punk crosses the street, not speaking any longer. As the come to the next block, Punk stops by the street sign. The camera slowly rises up to get a shot of teh two perpendicular signs, one reading “Swanson” the other reading “Ritner”. The camera shifts back down to Punk, who is looking up at the street sign.* | xXx CM Punk xXx | “And last week, the next step in my career was taken for me. Just as I was poised to take over WWED Impact, I got drafted to The Land Of Extreme, ECW. The last time the wrestling world saw ECW, it was a shell of it’s former self. Although branded Extreme Championship Wrestling, it was nothing more than Vince McMahon’s televised circus, with zombies, leprechauns and boogeymen running rampant, leaving little time for the sport that is professional wrestling. I know it because I lived it. I climbed to the top of the mountain in that glorified developmental territory, and I held what Vince McMahon called the ECW Championship. I tried my d**ndest to add credibility to the ECW Championship, but it just wasn’t the same. It wasn’t the ECW Championship that was born in the building behind me. Yea, it looked the same, but holding that belt meant nothing, and everyone knew it. The fans, the wrestlers, even Vince himself knew deep down inside that his brand of ECW and his ECW Title was nothing more than a mockery to the legacy of Extreme Championship Wrestling. But that was then, and this is now. ECW is back in the hands of it’s mastermind, Paul Heyman, and his most loyal henchman, Tommy Dreamer. The Land of Extreme returns home tonight to the corner of Ritner & Swanson, Viking Hall, The New Alhambra Arena, actually, to hell with that, The ECW Arena. The debut show, the first step in the next chapter of extreme. And CM Punk is going to be a huge part of that chapter. I have found my niche, my place, where I truly belong in this business. WWE Damage Inc., the real ECW, every Tuesday night. Sit back and enjoy the show.” *Punk turns away from the camera and walks toward The New Alhambra Arena, he opens up a door on teh side of the building and walks in as the scene fades.* END Scene #1 Scene Two *The scene opens with a shot of a large ECW banner hanging in front of the camera. The sound of the classic ECW theme can be heard playing softly in the background. Faint footsteps can be heard. Suddenly, a figure walks into the camera shot. The shoulder length blonde hair, the black athletic jacket with the white stripe across the chest, the black shorts, the man was unmistakable. CM Punk stood in front of the ECW banner, his arms cross over his chest, staring at the camera. After a few silent moments, Punk spoke.* | xXx CM Punk xXx | “So, here we are, August 12th, 2008. The ECW Arena. Where such stars as Shane Douglas, Tommy Dreamer, Tazz, Rhino, Justin Credible, Rob Van Dam and Sabu paved the road of their legacies. Tears have been wept, much blood has been shed just down that hall, through teh door and on the other side of the black curtain that hangs from teh metal archway. And tonight, as a bonafide star myself, I will step into the ring and begin my own road, pave my own way to pro-wrestling immortality. Shelton Benjamin, we’ve had a few words in the past couple of days, and I must say that I don’t think I have ever met a man who is as fond of himself as you are. If you are truly as good as you think you are Shelton, then I must question why you have never held a World Championship. Could it possibly be that you are nothing more than some young, arrogant, egotistical ingrate just like all of the other boys in this business that claim to be ‘the best’? Or maybe it’s because your momma has beaten all of the common sense out of you, and you would believe me if I told you that she was marrying Santa Claus. Either way Shelton, you are going to get hit with a dose of reality tonight, and I will prove to you, Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer that I, and I alone, deserve the ECW Championship. No matter what the fans think, or how much they boo when the sound of ‘South Of heaven’ hits the speakers, it cannot take away from what I do in that ring. They cannot take away my wrestling ability, what got me to the dance. And they cannot change the irrefutable outcome of our match tonight Shelton. CM Punk wins, that much is already clear. My victory is inevitable, and you know it Shelton. But the time for talking is over. The time for me to stand back here, only yards away from my domain, is coming to an end. But I don’t fret, I didn’t need this interview, Shelton. I didn’t need this camera time to say why you just aren’t on my level, I plan on doing that in the ring. I’m sure you already know Shelton, but this is just in case you have forgotten. I’m Straight Edge. And Straight Edge Means That I Am Better Than You.” *With that, Punk walks out of the camera shot and the scene fades.* End Scene #2 END RP =============================================== ==========OOC INFO (OPTIONAL========== Name: Age: Favorite Wrestler: Favorite Diva: Where'd You Find Us?: [/align] |
